Great spot for the week. Small but has everything you need and well maintained. Love the koi pond next to the room, the noise from which being very soothing. Host was very responsive and also accommodating when I had to return to retrieve something after checkout. Good neighborhood, too. The free Emeryville shuttle to MacArthur BART is just 2 or 3 blocks away.

Gorgeous loft --- true calming oasis. Genuinely can't thank Albena enough. We were here to meet some investors and clients in SF. It was the perfect home away from home: Large, uncluttered, airy and calm, but just a quick hop accross the bridge to get to the centre of town. Stunning garden, and two glorious terraces. Honestly just perfect.

We had high very expectations of Albena and her place based on the listing, ratings and reviews. Our actual experience exceeded all of our expectations! We had a wonderful experience! The place was great! We were totally comfortable and at ease. My wife loves to cook and truly enjoyed the kitchen! The location was ideal for us and so close to the things we wanted to do in Oakland and Berkeley. On top of all that there were two magical things; the garden and Albena. We loved spending time in the garden. It was beautiful and we felt surrounded by nature. And the Koi fish were gorgeous! The sound of the water flowing was so peaceful. The second magical thing was the support we got from Albena. We had several family situations occur that created some complexity with our plans. Albena worked hand in hand with me to work everything out! She cared and showed true support and understanding!!

The Lily Pad was a perfect place for my mother to stay while she was visiting. The scenery is so peaceful and the home is comfortable and relaxing. My mother felt right at home and she will be staying here for her future visits. Thank you for the hospitality!

From the time I arrived at Albena and Nikola’s home, I knew I’d found something truly special. The space is absolutely stunning!! Every detail feels thoughtful, warm, and beautifully designed. It’s spotless, peaceful, and filled with those little touches that make you instantly feel at home. The location couldn’t be better! Tucked away in a quiet corner of Emeryville yet just minutes from everything. I loved waking up to soft light streaming in and ending the evenings with a serene view that lives up to the name Stargazer. ✨ Albena and Nikola are perfect hosts, gracious, responsive, and genuinely kind. They thought of everything to make the stay effortless, from the well-stocked kitchen and cozy linens to their wonderful local recommendations. This is one of those rare places that feels more like a retreat than a rental. I left feeling rested, inspired, and already planning my next visit. Our stays at Albena’s wonderful home are never long enough! The space is perfect for the two of us, and the beautiful gardens both in front and back just keep getting better with every visit. We feel so fortunate to have this cozy option near family in the area, and recommend it highly for those who may also need a well thought out home away from home — it truly is for us!

If there were an option to give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Albena is a kind and gracious host, and clearly communicated everything throughout my stay, from booking to check out. She's responsive, sincere, and generous. The Lily Pad is the perfect size for one person, and I loved discovering the thoughtful details such as a tea kettle already full of water and filtered water pitcher in the fridge up on my arrival. The cool, serene energy and vibrant plant life of helped me find calm, and even though there's a TV, it's easy to ignore it in favor of the oasis. When you stay here, sleep with the window open so you can peacefully slumber to the sound of gentle waters.

This was our third long-term stay at the Serene Sunset Cottage in just a little over a year. We love the peace and tranquility staying here provides us. It definitely feels like our home away from home. We are so appreciative of Albena and Nikolay as they are always just a message away and gracious to accommodate our requests. Needless to say, we'll be back soon!

This is a really special AirBNB. You can enjoy the back garden and koi pond from the balcony, and I even cracked the sliding door at night because the cool breezes and calm sound of the water helped me sleep. I’m a stickler for cleanliness, and the unit is very clean. Everything looked brand new. It’s well appointed, the hosts were attentive and kind, and I’d easily stay here again if I was visiting East Bay.
